  • Normally, therapists totally push you to book live sessions per hour, which cost on average in the UK Β£65 each, and that’s all they give you. Even betterhelp.com which floods us with adverts on YouTube (no idea why, seeing as I am basically proving to everyone how much better Chillsville is) costs Β£60/week or more when we tried it!

    So what we did is create an awesome tool you can use in your own time, for far less money, which can replace most of the live sessions you might need … so loads better value, right?

  • You are dead right! Traditional therapy can be patronising, smart-arsey and can make you feel like a loser. But, it’s chill with Chillsville.
    Of course some therapists are brilliant, and guess what, we have some right here on Chillsville!
    But unfortunately, therapy does have a stigma, and like all stereotypes, this idea is based in reality.
    And this notion of therapy being patronising and preachy is especially true for men. The governing body of this industry in the USA basically tells its members (therapists) that masculinity is toxic and other ‘woke’ style ideology which in my view is utterly unprofessional. I was also very shocked by a book launch on therapy in my home town of Bath where the author, a young woman full of activist zeal stood up and shouted that therapy has always been political, to rounds of applause from her therapist audience.
    You can forget that here. Everything we do is scientifically backed, common-sense oriented, and absolutely judgement free, and absolutely no identity politics or any politics at all. All I care about is you, and what matters to you and your life. How you feel, is what is real. We’ve got your back on that one, and we have a major mission to reinvent what ‘therapy’ means to people.

  • Aside from the fact there are 168 hours in the week, and therapy only uses one of those, πŸ™ there are some other reasons Chillsville works much better:

    It’s not all in the mind: normal therapy thinks you can talk your way through anything and the brain is all that matters. Pardon the frankness but that is total BS.

    Your body, which is ancient, animal and primal, is where emotions come from, and that needs to be directly helped too. Just think of phrases like ‘gut feeling’ and ‘pain in the neck’ to get an inkling of this idea.

  • The main thing you should do immediately is sign up to the WhatsApp group and/or email, as that’s where all free updates go.

    This is a course of 11 videos, designed to explain a few small topics πŸ˜‰ like the meaning of life, and how to find purpose.
    Look, to be honest, we might end up charging for everything over time, because people take things more seriously when they pay for them, but if you get in now on the free updates, you’ll keep them free forever.

  • Simon will listen to you, what you need, and make a suggestion on how to fix things.
    Now, this might include some special program that will cost more money, but this will be incredible value, utterly focused, and will be designed to work with the Instant Sessions.
    It’s actually just as important to tell you what is NOT involved, and that is the normal therapy ‘schtick.’ Therapists make money by charging you per hour, so actually most of them don’t want to actually fix you … they just want to book you up for more sessions.
    Now that’s fine, if it’s what you want – Simon himself has some clients that do this, happily, but the main point of Chillsville is to provide fast, effective solutions for everyone else, who can’t afford, or who doesn’t want to fork out the massive fees you can rack up with normal therapy.

  • Good question! It’s audio, voice over music, so kind of like a meditation, blended with techniques from therapy, and … oh, listen, I won’t waffle on. The main thing to know is this: you can choose what you want, which therapist, your topics of choice …. even the background music.
    Find a place you can chill out in peace, ideally with some headphones, because an Instant Session is all audio. Sessions can last from 5 mins to a half hour-ish: and most importantly, Instant Sessions make you feel utterly chill.
    If that sounds new to you, and you’re not sure what to do … there is a great practice session that includes instructions.

  • Absolutely not. If you have a psychiatric illness such as schizophrenia that means you are on medications, such as anti-psychotics, Chillsville is not for you, you will need more specialist care.
    Also, our therapists have limited time, so they may reject people. It’s up to them, to be honest.

  • Wow, good question. Short answer, no.
    Chillsville has no interest in any specific theories as they tend to be about 90% long-winded guff and 10% actual useful practical content.
    So instead we of course researched all of the main ones, to learn what works, but Chillsville is a blend of the best and most practical bits of everything plus our own unique guff-free approach. End of story.

  • Annoyingly it’s a fairly endless list, but the mini-summary is this: anything that causes thoughts or emotional reactions that you don’t like.
    It could be other people, your position in life, feeling crap …. basically anything to do with feelings can be fixed.
    So, that ranges from things like giving up smoking, addiction, bullying, phobias, fears, feeling no purpose, getting annoyed, being bored, as well as the usual suspects of feeling angry, anxious, sad or stressed.
    Oh by the way, we also solve quite a few more ‘physical’ things, like weight, sleep, poor skin, asthma, IBS, feeling sexy and fitness.
